“ Unfortunately, this restaurant closed permanently on 1/30/2025. I am quite saddened by this as no other restaurant in the area has satisfied my craving for certain Dim Sum items, and many other dishes. ”
“ Updating my rating to a 5 star because I'm not sure why I gave it 4 star in the first place. My family loves Wong gee and has been going here/ ordering take home from here for over a decade. We also ordered the whole roasted pig here for the tea ceremony for my wedding and it was delicious! ”
“ Love the authentic Chinese dishes....flaky and tender fresh fish steamed to perfection, shrimp & eggs that melt in your mouth. It's a family restaurant, family atmosphere, and family inspired dishes! Dim Sum is delicious too!!! ”
“ This is the first review I've felt compelled to write. This restaurant is outstanding - maybe the best Chinese food I've ever had, excluding in Queens, NY. Highly-recommend. ”
“ Food is good, service was okay. Ambiance needs work. I would eat here again, but wouldn't use them for any special occasions. ”
“ I think I this will be one of my go to, sit-down Chinese/Cantonese restaurant. Wong Gee Asian restaurant has an old school Chinese restaurant vibe; it felt like I was stepping into a Chinese restaurant that was popular back in the 80s. While the food was not the best that I had, I'll say that my food was above average. For my dining pleasure, I went with an order of Kung Pao Beef and shrimp dumplings. The dumplings were a bit dry compared to what I have had in the past, but they were still tasty. While the dumplings were not the best, I am interested in trying other things off of the Dim Sum menu. The Kung Pao Beef arrived at my table, and it looked like a mountain of food. So, I think the amount of food was definitely worth the price point of about 14-16 bucks. I enjoyed the fact that the Kung Pao beef had plenty of beef in addition to peanuts, celery, and green peppers. Also, the dish was very delicious. Originally, I planned to eat half of the dish and take the rest home, but the food was so good, I was like: what diet? I was surprised to see that the restaurant has several Tiki cocktails. Since I was having a solo data, I went with the Suffering Bastard (light and dark rum with fruit juice). I am happy to report that I was shocked (in a good way) that the drink was pretty strong, and it was only like 7 bucks. Overall, I thought the service was pretty good. Like I said above, this will be one of my go-to spots in Wheaton because the food was decent, drinks were strong, plenty of Asians dine here, and the prices are not too bad. ”
“ This is an all around good Cantonese Chinese food restaurant. We went there on Chinese new year for dim sum. They have menus that you circle the dim sum items and the wait staff brings them to you, rather than roaming dim sum carts. We got various dim sum and a pork chow mein. Everything tasted good. Most of their items are hot, a couple were like warm, so we took them home. I really like it that they only had 2 egg tarts left, so they gave us a mochi ball as substitute to complete the order of 3. Extra points for extra effort there. The staff is nice and helpful. We will be back. ”
